BioMy name is Vivian and I'm the mother of one wonderful 26 year old daughter who just happens to float around this site and encouraged me to join it. I'm also disabled with a varied number of medical problems, none of which put me in the hospital (as long as I continue to remember to not tell one of my doctors that I believe people should have the right to choose to be humanely euthanized) but do make it impossible for me to 'function normally' in the world ... whatever that is suppose to mean these days. There's a lot of wierdos out there!! Anyhow, if you'd like the run down & would like to compare medical problems & disorders, let me know & we can laugh at each other & ohhh & ahhh together at the complexities & lack of practical knowledge of modern medicine.
I'm also a veteran of the U.S.M.C. For you idgets out there, that's the United States Marine Corps. For the uninformed, that's a branch of the service that use to be for men only basically & when women barged onto the scene 30 years ago to work side by side in the trenches, we were verbally, physically & sexually abused & when we screamed FOUL, HELP ME, the deeds were swept under the rug & we were honorably tossed out of the Marines ... oh wait, that still goes on, doesn't it? Yes, ladies & gentlemen, I can be quite controversial because I've been there & done that in life. Oh & those medical problems I mentioned ... they tend to be ongoing inpart due to the wonderful care I receive from the VA doctors.
Anyone ever read Erma Bombecks If Life Is A Bowl Of Cherries What Am I Doing In The Pits? ... I enjoy her sense of humor =)
Anyhow, moving right along again.
On a more personal note, I'm widowed & have been for many years ... so no need to feel sorry for me, I'm use to it. On an upbeat note, I'm thankful that I had to have the opportunity to have at least one great love in my life ... I still consider myself a lucky woman =)
In my life I've done many, many things ... good, bad & ugly. I grew up fast, matured early and have probably experienced more of life then most of you ever will. Trust me, I'm not bragging! I would describe myself as the classic jack of all trades & master of none.
On a more mystical note, I'm a Libra which means I'm pretty balanced in life - don't laugh! I believe in astrology and a higher power. That higher power is a force that abides in all living things and binds us all together in one form or another ... thus you have, from the scientific point of view ... cause & effect & from the philosophical point of view ... karma. So, in my life I try to put out only what I expect to come back to me in the full circle of things, be it in thought or deed.
Other interests include the law ... I'm passionate about it. I think that stems from being a Libra to a degree. Want to know more? Ask! I also enjoy nature (gardening, landscaping, the great outdoors), almost all things SciFi & Fantasy - both movies & books, animals/pets & not just the basic dog, cat, bird & fish but the more exotic as well so we can chat about that if you'd like. I also love to sketch/draw, write and debate. For what it's worth, I think I have a pretty good sense of humor though my daughter does tell me that I'm a little slow to catch a punch line but I believe that's only because she is so damned quick at tossing them at me. Not to mention I tend to be the butt end of her jokes/rants so she has an unfair advantage in the fact that she surprises & disarms me with her boldness LOL Do people still do LOL on the internet? ummm ... ahhh getting off track again =)
Last but not least in sharing aspects of my life with you & the world at large ... my most time consuming hobbie in life now, is playing Neopets. If you play, feel free to look me up ... same user name there as here. I'm an avid pet collector there & my passion is my guild of which I am a coowner of with my daughter but she's on hiatus from Neo & my galleries. Please do not ask for my items or pets though. If I can make it on the site, trust me, you can too!
In conclusion, here's the big reason why I am here. Tahhhh Duhhhh ... you probably guessed it already but here goes anyhow. I want to make friends. I want to laugh ... be it with you, because of you or at you ... and yes, that was suppose to be a funny! I want to find people I can chat with, share stories with, debate with. You know ... things that can enhance my life & help it to be a bit more exciting & fun! I've very open minded (as long as you're not a total pig) so if you'd like to befriend me I'd love it.
So don't be shy, drop on by & I'll return the favor.
